Together, AFPT, Alformet and New Frontier Technologies are fostering a productive environment for development of well-designed thermoplastic composites via automation, innovative design and advanced 3D expertise.
AFPT GmbH (Dörth Germany), Alformet GmbH (Dörth, Germany) and New Frontier Technologies Pty Ltd. (NFT, Canberra, Australia) announce a joint venture, Digital Composites Factory. This collaboration brings together each company’s respective expertise in automated manufacturing, innovative design and advanced 3D diagnostics in the field of digital composites manufacturing.
“The formation of Digital Composites Factory is a natural progression of our shared goals in composites technology,” Coert Kok, founder and managing director of AFPT, says. “Together, we aim to provide a unique and comprehensive advanced manufacturing capability for composite structures.”
Located in Dörth, the Digital Composites Factory will combine the latest in digital technologies with the proven expertise of each partner company, aiming to more efficiently cater to the evolving needs and demands of sectors like space, aerospace, automotive and general industry for “well-designed and executed wound thermoplastic composites” says Lucas Ciccarelli, managing director of Alformet. Through this, each company also anticipates internal growth — for example, for NFT, the venture represents an opportunity to extend its presence into the European market.
“The capability consolidated in the Digital Composites Factory will enable a future for composites manufacture characterized by tailored design, scalable production and digital twinning for 3D quality assurance and high-fidelity performance simulation,” Paul Compston, Director and CEO of NFT, added.
